Lego + Work = a more innovative business
Through a LEGO Serious Play session, businesses can:
✔ Tackle difficult problems
✔ Improve team communication
✔ Increase employee engagement
✔ Drive creativity and innovation
✔ Have a more genuine conversation about the issues that really matter
The Greek philosopher Plato once said, “You can learn more about a person in an hour of play than you can from a lifetime of conversation.” A new program offered by Lego draws on this ancient wisdom by using Lego bricks to help a company’s employees articulate concepts in a new way that accesses the whole brain and opens up pathways for each team member to contribute to potentially novel and richer solutions.
The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method is a facilitated meeting, communication and problem-solving process in which participants are led through a series of questions, probing deeper and deeper into the subject.
Each participant builds their own 3D LEGO® model in reaction to the group facilitator´s questions using specially preselected LEGO® elements. These 3D models serve as a basis for group discussion, knowledge sharing, problem solving and decision making.
We also empower our clients to utilize Lego Serious Play techniques in their own praxis by coaching and guiding them, giving them the tools and the benefit of our experience so they can get the most out of their meetings.
The best way to see the power of LEGO Serious Play is to experience it for yourself. Get in touch to see what it can do for your business or join us every Wednesday at 12:30 PST.
Sometimes it takes having a little bit of fun to dismantle the social walls we've built at the workplace. Playing with LEGO in the workspace can aid in the destruction of those walls and help build relationships with your employees and coworkers.
"People are at their most mindful when they play. If we can find ways of enjoying our work, blurring the lines between work and play, the gains will be greater." - Ellen Langer, Professor of Psychology, Harvard University

To delve into a mindful state,LEGO suggests focusing on a certain element of your world that maintains consistency. Fixating on your breath, for example, is a perfect model of something that is constant.
However, focusing on your breathing isn't the only option at hand. Sewing, sweeping, or well, building with LEGO, are routes that could help you discover a state of mindfulness. Concentrating on the clicking sound of LEGO bricks being put together is one way of kickstarting mindfulness.
